Exploring Watercolors

Join Tom DeSomer for this one-day workshop and explore the foundations of painting with watercolors. Designed with the beginner as well as the intermediate artist in mind, this workshop will first introduce you to the basics which will include washes, brushwork as well as Tom's mixing techniques. The class will also cover the important skill of simplifying shapes and using the correct tonal values. Participants will be led through various exercises and class demonstrations.

Tom has been teaching adult watercolor classes since 2014 both in Simi Valley, California and in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is known for his encouraging and enthusiastic instructional style. Tom is a member of the American Watercolor Society (AWS), the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), and the Fort Wayne Artist Guild (FWAG). He is also a lifetime signature member of the Whiskey Painters of America (WPA) and a signature member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana (WSI).
