Bountiful Bowls: Mixed Media Collage

As we celebrate the colors and abundance of the fall season, come fill your own paper vessel with fruits, flowers, and symbols of your personal harvest.  In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn basic collage techniques, explore a variety of cutting tools, and experiment with layers of colorful papers, textiles, and mixed-media materials to create a design that is uniquely yours. We’ll begin with an 11" × 14" Bristol board surface and build our compositions through layering, cutting, and arranging.  For those who would like to take their piece a step further, you’ll also have the opportunity to experiment with machine stitching, adding texture and another layer of handmade character to your finished work.

Come play with color, celebrate creativity, and enjoy an afternoon of art, joy, and community. For ages 12 and up.

About the Instructor

Hannah Burnworth is the artist behind Milk House Studio. Burnworth has degrees in both art education and studio art. She has been teaching in both public schools and through private workshops for 14 years. In addition to teaching, Burworth loves to create all things paper. Her handmade books, collage, and paper works celebrate creativity and design, bringing together a love for texture, color, nature and the beauty of everyday life. Burworth has shown her work regionally and nationally.
