Bookmaking Basics: 3 Simple Structures

with Hannah Burnworth

When: Sat, Oct 10 from 1pm - 4:30pm

Where: Artlink, 300 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.

Tickets: $55 ($45 for Artlink Members)

Come join us for a fun and creative bookmaking workshop where you’ll learn simple cutting, folding, and bookbinding techniques while creating three unique handmade books.

We’ll make an accordion book that fits inside an Altoids tin, a flag book featuring a variety of textures and imagery, and a star book that can be displayed as an ornamental decoration. Each project introduces a different structure and offers plenty of opportunities to experiment with papers, textures, images, and personal touches.  Beginners, intermediate, and advanced bookmakers are all welcome.  Whether you are new to bookmaking or have experience creating artist books, there will be something for everyone. Feel free to bring your own ephemera—such as photographs, papers, ticket stubs, handwritten notes, or other small treasures—to incorporate into your books.

For ages 12 and up.
